Jimilla Houghton

Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner

Jimilla Houghton is nationally accredited Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Attorney Generals Department. She has a special passion for assisting individuals and couples to respectfully end their unions, in much the same way they entered them.

Jimilla holds a degree in Law and Criminology and was admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2012.

Jimilla is passionate about working with people to respectfully diffuse dead locks, negotiate outcomes and effectively manage their differences as an alternative to litigation.

Jimilla has a wide knowledge of family law issues with special interests in children and parenting matters. With both professional and personal experience her strengths lay in understanding the often complex issues arising in family law maters. She offers clients an empathetic and non-adversarial approach to mediation and family dispute resolution.
